Mount Everest, also known in Nepal as Sagarmāthā and in Tibet as Chomolungma, is Earth’s highest mountain. It is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in Nepal and Tibet. Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft.) above sea level. The international border between China (Tibet Autonomous Region) and Nepal runs across Everest’s precise summit point. Its massif includes neighbouring peaks Lhotse, 8,516 m (27,940 ft); Nuptse, 7,855 m (25,771 ft.) and Changtse, 7,580 m (24,870 ft).
Following 18 months of rigorous training, 2 months living in the harsh mountain environment and 18 hours climbing in the oxygen less-world above 8,000m – Mollie completed her challenge.
She now has a very exciting and amazing story to share with us at The Side Room.
Mollie is a passionate and imaginative speaker whose presentation will be tailor made just for us, which backed up with exciting first hand photographs and videos, will make it feel as if you are climbing Everest alongside her! You’ll also hear about her next challenge to become the first British woman to summit Mount Everest from both sides.
“Mollie is a unique young lady with a genuine passion for adventure and achievement. I am proud to support her record attempt on Mount Everest and wish her every success on the mountain. Also in her efforts to raise money and awareness of the anti-poverty charity ActionAid” – Sir Ranulph Fiennes
