If you, like me, only ever drink tequila at the end of the night when you know deep down that you probably should’ve stopped drinking a few drinks back. And you’re so totally going to blame the tequila for your hangover in the morning and swear off it forever, until the next time! Well, I’ve news for you, tequila should be sipped and savoured like a whiskey or brandy and we’re going to tell you how. So if you’re a total tequila novice (drinking it in a shot glass with lime and salt wondering where the worm is!) or just love it but want to to know a bit more then we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you this Wednesday (November 11) when we’ll be hosting a unique evening of tequila tasting – the perfect introduction to its history; production; tradition and why you should never shoot it!
Our fabulous expert – Melanie Reeves – will guide you through the best way to taste it (and not a shot glass, slice of lime or worm in sight!); understand the different classes/types; texture; aroma; subtlety of flavour and what the effects of barrel ageing does to the delicate 100% agave in precious tequila.
And as a little extra twist to the night, We’ll be returning to the beautiful Lacey Contemporary Gallery – who will be showing a new exhibition by all female artists called ‘The Labyrinth Inside’ – where you’ll also be treated to a pre tasting tour by the Associate Director and Curator, Tessa Yee.
It will be a relaxed and fun evening, so why not join us to meet, listen, learn, taste, explore and find your Mexican mood enhancer.
Men are welcome as guests of women attending the event.
Ticket price: £24.00.
There are a very limited number of tickets available for this event and you can click here for full event details and to purchase tickets.
